“The end of a thing is better than its beginning;”
Ecclesiastes 7:8a NKJV
One of my favorite past times is reading a good book. There’s nothing like going through the chapter building up for the strong ending of each chapter which builds towards the next chapter. Maybe it’s not a book for you but a series show that each episode creates suspense for the next episode, and you can’t wait to watch. After thinking about this perspective in books and shows, I wonder if we have that same excitement as we near the ending chapter of another year. How will chapter 2024 end for you? Have you taken time to reflect on what has been experienced, overcome, or survived this year?
Our verse for today raises a pivotal statement that should ignite our excitement as we conclude chapter 2024. “The end of a thing is better than its beginning”, what an interesting passage to meditate upon. Think about it, what did you gain this year that has made you better? What have you lost this year that has shown you that you’ve grown stronger? What have you encountered this year that has made you realize your faith was stronger than you thought? What battles have you won that revealed to you that the battle truly is the Lord’s? What have you released this year that you held on to for so many years in the past? Relationships that you thought you couldn’t live without, only to find out that the moment you closed the door, release and peace of mind was your portion. Here’s some encouragement stop holding on to what is not yours, one of the greatest issues is when we know something is not for us, but we stay entangled with it because its familiar or comfortable. I just want us to really reflect upon the fact that even pain, tears shed, and transition of loved ones, though painful have worked for our good.
Here is my declaration: I am ending 2024 better than I began 2024. I am stronger now, wiser, better, seen more this year than I did last year. I am ending the chapter in thanksgiving because I finished better than what I started. I am not concerned with what I shed in the process because it was a part of making me better.
Have happy holiday and a prosperous New Year on behalf Joshua Goodin Ministries, see you in 2025!
This year has been full of high’s and low’s. Love and Lost but through it all God has reminded the same. I have grown in ways I could have never imagined and for that I’m grateful. Thank you overseer for your guidance and consistency. I’m looking forward to what God has in store in this new year for my family, friends, myself and thee entire body of Christ. 2025 here I come lord willing. 💜
