Raising Questions

Almost two weeks ago I had the privilege of watching “The Forge” with members of the Chapel, while watching the movie listen as various emotions were displayed from members. The word forge means create, as you watch the movie you understand why the title was selected. During the early parts of the movie the main character Isaiah(a bitter wayward lacking respect for mother and ultimately self) is asked three questions by another character Joshua Moore:

  • “In what ways do you want to grow in the next year?”

  • “What type of person do you want to be?”

  • “What do you want people to think when they see you coming?”

As we begin this new year, I wonder how you see yourself in lieu of these questions? Honestly, I don’t want to assume that everyone wants to grow, or people know what kind of person they want to be or even what they want people to think when they see them coming. My desire is that individuals make the decision to develop a shape as we enter this new year. What better way to start the year than by asking questions, establishing goals, and becoming who God has purposed you to be.

Happy New Year from Joshua Goodin Ministries!
